Cedar Lake was created by the construction of the Grand Rapids Hydro dam on the Saskatchewan River system in the early 1960’s.

Before the dam was built, there were three smaller lakes that became one when the dam was constructed and the forest land flooded.

Moak Lodge is located on Cross Bay of Cedar Lake.

The remnants of the trees underwater provide excellent cover for baitfish and gamefish. The lake consists of a mix of gravel, limestone, and mud bottom.

There is structure everywhere on the lake, and finding areas where the sunken timber ends and gravel bottom begins is the ticket to catching walleyes!

For pike, early season and clear, shallow, sun drenched bays along the shoreline produce many trophy fish! As the season progresses, weed-bed edges are the main producers.
